Laker Navy Parent Update

Dear Laker Navy Parents!

Happy Spring Season! The Laker Navy is officially in full swing and back on the water (weather permitting) and working towards getting faster every day. We have a very successful trip down to Oak Ridge, Tennessee. We got in a lot of mileage and great rowing during or spring training camp.

I am still looking for more volunteers for the Parent Tents at Lubbers Cup, MACRA, and ACRA. It makes my job so much easier if the parent tent is taken care of at the regatta. Fed rowers are happy rowers! We have had one family volunteer but they should not have to take on the whole burden of the tent on their own. The more hands on the better and it spreads out the responsibility to more people.

In two weeks our Varsity crew (1 men’s boat and 1 women’s boat) will be heading to the West Coast and racing in the San Diego Crew Classic. Please ask your child if they are included in this if you do not already know. If you are planning on making the journey here are some links that were sent to us by the regatta.

The regatta weekend is fast approaching. We know everyone is busy getting ready for the big event, so below are some links to make life easier for you….

The rest of our crews will be heading to Columbus, Ohio for a scrimmage against Ohio State. We will not need a parent tent there but obviously parent support at the events are always welcomed! I will send out more info for both events when they both approach closer.

As always please let me know if you have any questions!!

All the best,
