GVSU Rowing Welcomes Michelle Goodwin, Coastas Ciungan,
and Lexie Benton to Coaching Staff

Three new faces will join the GVSU Rowing Club’s coaching staff for the 2015-2016 season!

With the departure of former Varsity Women’s Coach Hugh McKeegan, Coach Michelle Goodwin will be the new Assistant Men and Women’s Varsity Coach for the Club. A former rower for the University of Tennessee, Coach Goodwin brings both racing and coaching experience with her and will be a valuable addition to the club’s staff.

Along with Coach Goodwin, two familiar faces return to the GVSU boathouse. A former rower and recent graduate, Coach Coastas Ciungan will become a new assistant men’s coach. Coach Ciungan will primarily be working with incoming novice men and helping them transition into both college and rowing. Along with him, fresh off of the medals dock at ACRA, Lexie Benton will be an assistant coach and the team’s new facilities coordinator. Lexie brings enthusiasm and a hard work ethic to the staff here at GVSU.

Full length bios can be found under the team and coach tabs above, or by clicking here. The Laker Navy is excited to bring Michelle, Coastas, and Lexie on board and we are all looking forward to working with them in the upcoming year!
