Thursday, April 26th, 2018

Above you will find some old and older Laker Navy photos that have historical interest to the Grand Valley Rowing Club. Grand Valley Rowing is a historic tradition that has been built for over 50 years and a tradition that lives on today.

The Laker Navy posts these photos in our archives on the History page. There you can also find past rowing coaches since our founding as well as other historic photos. We invite all alumni to pay a visit to Grand Valley and visit the boat house.

In addition, if any alumni have photos of the past that they would like to share with the rowing club and our team historian, please do not hesitate to get a hold of the team president at

As always, keep pulling for the Laker Navy!

Hello Friends, Alumni, Family, Coaches and Regatta administrators.

The Lubbers Cup Regatta has been cancelled this year.

This was a very hard decision to make, but we wanted to make it before everyone got on the road. In fact, Minnesota was a third of the way here and turned back.

The main issue is we’re expecting gusts up to 40 miles an hour. That makes any body of water unrowable. On top of that were also expecting a cold hard rain and with the temperature now dropping into the 30s as a high and not enough shelter on land for everyone it is now a slam dunk.

Thanks so much to all that helped organize this event. The Chamber will reimburse any team registration and deposits upon requests.

We’re doing the right thing. Again, the Regatta is cancelled and I apologize for not being able to host it this year.
