Laker Navy finds Length at the Head of the Grand

The Laker Navy had an eventful day at the Head of the Grand in Lansing. With the Fall regatta season in full swing, we headed to Michigan State’s turf for a day of fast racing on the Grand River. The Varsity squads both had strong showings, with the Women’s 8s in good competition with Eastern Michigan University, and the Men’s 8s battling to the line with the Spartans. Our Novice Men got to go head to head with a surging MSU and ultimately came out with the win. The Novice women had their first experience racing Varsity programs and did a great job holding their own. For an added challenge, some of the Varsity Men and Women took to the course in pairs, to hone their skills for Head of the Charles next weekend. Despite tough winds and distracting rain, the Lakers pushed on and are looking forward to the next challenge!
