Morgan twice golden at USRowing Club National Championship

Rising senior and Grand Valley women’s team captain Samantha Morgan won the Senior 8+ today at the USRowing Club National Championship in Oak Ridge, TN. Morgan stroked Vesper Boat Club to an open water first place finish in a time of 6:36.6 ahead of Penn Athletic Club at 6:41.2 and Wisconsin Development Camp at 6:42.3. New York Athletic Club, Thompson Boat Center, and Minnesota Development camp rounded out the grand final.

On Sunday, Morgan and her Vesper teammates won their second championship in as many days by winning the Senior 4+ in a time of 7:28.4 ahead of Penn A.C. at 7:31.0 and Vesper BC ‘B’ at 7:35.1. Thompson Boat Center, New York Athletic Club, and Wisconsin Development Camp rounded out the grand final. Sam Morgan will continue training at Vesper BC in preparation for the Canadian Henley Regatta that takes place the first week of August.
