The obstacles that I have overcome have in some aspects, been due to the values that rowing has taught me. These values will be carried with me throughtout my tour in Afghanistan this upcoming year. Friendships built here on the GVSU Rowing Team are much like that of a family, and will undoubtoubly help me through my tour. The support that I have recieved and I know that I will continue to recieve is invaluable. Perserverance, work ethic, and dedication are just a few things that it takes to be successfull in this sport and it is something that I will always carry with me.
