Lubbers Cup Course Change

The 2018 Lubbers Cup Regatta will move forward with a change in the race course to account for expected high winds.
Forecast: Rain and winds 20+ mph from the ENE.

The course will be set with buoys out of Smith’s Bayou to the “point” of the Spring Lake Yacht Club.
This is approximately the same distance as the Henley race course. 1600+ meters.
The schedule will remain as published with allowances on the water for marshalling the crews to the start.

Safety Concerns:
1 – The Chief Official will have final say on racing conditions.
2 – There will be buoy lines to safely mark the course through the bridge.
3 – There will be 6 safety boats on the water.
4 – Marshalls will be placed at the start, bridge and finish for safety and traffic control.
