GVSU Rowing Club Heading for Oak Ridge

The coaches and select members of the Grand Valley State Rowing Team have arrived in warm Oak Ridge Tennessee! Friday the entirety of the Laker armada will leave frozen Allendale for warmer waters, marking the start of the yearly spring break training trip.

One of the premiere rowing destinations in the country, the Laker Navy will join the thousands of rowers that come to Oak Ridge each year. The true start to rowing on the water, this trip will be an opportunity to work on form, cohesiveness and most importantly speed. During this critical period many hard strokes will be taken to start building towards the Spring racing season.

On behalf of the entire team, we would like to wish everyone an enjoyable and safe spring break! We invite you to follow the athlete’s daily blogs, which will be posted daily at the beginning of the trip and will continue throughout the week. Check back here often for the latest information and pictures of the trip!

The Grand Valley State University Rowing Club challenges its student-athletes to reach the highest level to which they aspire both academically and athletically, while continuing to build and sustain a nationally competitive intercollegiate rowing program.
